Customer Reviews

spooky beyond belief. - Rated 5/5
This book was recommended to me by a friend who actually knows the author.
It is by far the spookiest book I've read in ages.
I'm not normally easily set on edge, but this book became increasingly chilling and 'unputdownable'.
I don't have a cat, although I was brought up with cats (and like them), but I do have albino gerbils and pink-eyed rats and sometimes wish they weren't looking at me !!
Definitely worth reading and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something 'different'.

good but could have been more gory - Rated 4/5
I heard about this book through a friend, who said I'd really relate to it. I do. I'm not surprised the reader from Colchester doesn't understand the plot of this book - he's a man isn't he? To me it makes total sense. Any woman would kill a drip like Josh, and I can see why the heroine prefers her cat to him. My one disappoointment with the book was it didn't go far enough. Why didn't the heroine kill more men? She clearly wants to...

more than your average chick flick - Rated 5/5
i got this book because i read a review of it in Marie Claire. This is by far the best book I've read ages. Really disturbing, and subtle. The writing is sensual and I can see why it got such good reviews. it's quite a female book, though there is something there for men! In a way this a horror, but better than a standard Stephen King. This could have only been written by a woman, as the feeling for the cat, and the subtle madness of that is very well observed. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for something different from the normal "chick-flick" novel all about blokes. This is way better than that.

freaky cat weirdness - will disturb men - Rated 4/5
my girlfriends just given me this to read and its freaked me out. Its quite disturbing peice of descent into madness, ending in a somewhat unpleasant way for the MAN in the book. I feel sorry for this guy, I don't think hes done anything that wrong, don't understand why that happened to him. Maybe this writer (woman) is getting off on it or something, or had some bad experience with men. My girlfriend really liked it and keeps going on about it, and about getting a cat, which disturbs me a bit.

Overall, it was good actually and I liked it. Probably more for sickos than normal men.

Neither romance nor horror, this book invents a new genre - Rated 5/5
The creepiest book I've read in ages. Imagine a novel that starts out as funny, romantic chick-lit, then turns into a spooky little horror tale. The central character Milla, might seem like just your average neurotic Bridget Jones type, with a catty twist to her, but don't be fooled. As the book unravels we begin to see a darker side to her. Meanwhile, I became entranced by the weird albino cat (my own cat will never seem the same again). By the time I reached the last page, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end.
