The most beautiful illustartions I have ever seen - Rated I bought this book for my daughter after falling in love with the illustrations. The story is also lovely as the tale is based on 3 traditional tales from Northern Europe. The story is most unusual which is rare in children's books which, nowadays, seem to be very tame and similar. It is much more a girl's book as the pictures are so beautiful. But I would say it is not really suitable for children under 5 as it is a relatively long story for a picture book and has some powerful ideas/themes. I am so taken with it that I have now started buying it and giving it to all the other little girls we know as presents. I highly recommend this book. Buy it!! the mum's reading it will not be disappointed either!!
