Customer Reviews

No star!! - Rated 1/5
After reading the Magician's Guild, I thought this trilogy showed promise, and promptly bought the Novice and the High Lord. What a let down. This book is nothing short of dire!!

Almost 600 pages of nothing. There is no story. Nothing of any consequence happens. Characters are wooden and lacking spark. I don't understand how so many people have rated it so highly. There are much better books out there. It is so bad I can't even bring myself to read the High Lord, because I no longer care what happens. Most boring of all was Lord Dannyl's so called travels and adventures trying to dig up information about the High Lord. It just went on and on and on.

Having said all that. Some people obviously enjoyed the book. However, I for one am sending all three to the charity shop.

Soooooo boring!

Well balanced and Enjoyable - Rated 4/5
This book is not only more balanced that the first instalment in the fact it isn't drawn out in either part, but it is much more exciting and inspires a great hate for the residential villains of the book. Much more of a page-turner than The Magicians Guild and left me impatient for my copy of the High Lord to arrive in the post.
A suitable and justifying second instalment to the trilogy!

I like it but.............. - Rated 5/5
Yes it is good and i love it and all that but there is a very small let down. Can anyone tell me why there is a whole book leading up to a poxy little fight with regin a bit of a let down but i will have to say that its better than the first one much better!!

Great, for a sequel - Rated 4/5
I would recommend this book to any one. I believe that Trudi Canavan describes the characters in wonderful detail and creating a deep sense of the character which is followed on from the book before in the series.

I believe that the book itself does not live up to the excitement of the 1st in the series, but a great sequel.
