Book Details / Review - supplied by Amazon UK

When two desperate witches lure part-time journalist and full-time werewolf Elena Michaels into a carefully laid trap, she quickly learns that her perceptions about humanity are based on some fundamental flaws. In Kelley Armstrong's supernatural thriller, Stolen, the world is populated with vampires, demons, half-demons, magical shamans and other supernatural races living anonymously among the human population--a concept that Elena has a hard time accepting, just as she struggled with her own lupine identity in Armstrong's remarkable debut, Bitten. But when Elena returns to her werewolf pack in upstate New York, pack leader Jeremy reveals that the threat people pose to the supernatural races should not be taken lightly. When Jeremy, Elena and her lover Clay decide to take action to protect their pack, Elena gets kidnapped on the orders of a power-crazed billionaire. While being held captive she learns that while some magical beings are good and some evil, none are capable of more outright cruelty and savage betrayal than ordinary, non-magical human beings.

Armstrong actively solicited reader input via her Web site while writing the second title of her Women of the Otherworld series. This unconventional creative strategy sheds light on Armstrong's justified literary confidence. Her large cast of characters is fully realised, despite their great diversity, which ranges from insecure research scientists to unreliable half-demons, as well as Paige, an orphaned and highly volatile adolescent witch. Most gratifyingly, Armstrong's horror is tempered with a sly and very satisfying dose of humour. --Deirdre Hanna, Amazon.ca

mojo147 - Rated 4/5
This is book 2 in the otherworld series. It's a paranormal book mainly about Elena Michaels the main subject of book 1. Elena is the only female werewolf in existence.
When following a lead about a potential werewolf killing, she is contacted by a secret group of paranormals intent on enlisting the pack's assistance in tracking down a group capturing there people. When info leaks out of her existence she is kidnapped from her pack and placed in a type of "experimental lab" where she eventually meets other captive paranormals.

She meets a witch, Ruth Winterbourne and learns that in addition to werewolves and witches there are also demons, shamans, sorcerers, vampires, and other creatures living unnoticed among humans.
Werewolves by there nature lived apart from other supernaturals and relied on no one but there pack for protection. Here they have to join with others who together with the "stolen" make a fast paced story well worth reading.

Different, but great ! - Rated 4/5
This is the second book written by Kelley Armstrong. The first book (Bitten) featured only werewolves and was really fantastic.

In the second book she makes her world bigger: if there are werewolves, you also have to have other magical and preternatural creatures, right ? Like whiches, sorcerers, deamons, half-demons, vampires...
And what if you take people with loads of money and no new challenges who find out that these other races excist ? You get what they had on Buffy. Quote Elena: "Boring. I slept through half the episodes." But not quite so boring when she's the one who gets kidnapped...

Of course, her captureres didn't take in acount her Pack (Clay in particular) and of course, Elena herself, who will not go down without one heck of a fight...

This book is a bit different from the first one. Not so many inner thought from Elena or finding her place in the world. This deals about what you're willing to do to make sure you get out alive... So it's different, but it's still great !

An ideal holiday read... - Rated 4/5
I was impressed by her first novel. This continues in the same vein but with the introduction of some new interesting characters. Unlike stereotypical horror novels this is very light but the tale doesn't suffer as a result.

A Worthy Sequal - Rated 4/5
Stolen is the sequal to Bitten.

In this next chapter of the story Elena (a warewolf) is kidnapped by a group of humans hell bent on studying supernatural beings - each member of this group having different reasons for their actions.

Trapped and alone Elena must escape and promises to help at least one other (A young girl named Savannah) to escape.
Her promise is made to a Witch named Ruth who makes Elena promise to get Savannah out and to her daughter Paige.

But they are underground and security is tight.

But the bad guys haven`t counted on Elenas extended family (her Pack) and they haven`t counted on Elena herself.

And so it`s a battle of man against the supernatural.

But who will win?

An amazing book, and a great read.

A Very Enjoyable Read - Rated 5/5
Accidently picked this one up to read before the first book in the series Bitten unfortunately, but despite that, throughly enjoyed it, to the point of not being able to put it down in the last half and staying up all night to finish it. Have now ordered the first book and the following ones in the series. The author's website is also a good read for more information about characters and the like. Definitly would recommend it for those who are interested in Werewolf themed novels.
