best trilogy in a very long time! - Rated
this book is amazing. all other reviews with 4 or 5 star rating do justice to this book so i will not bored you by describing just how amazing and clever the three books are! you need to give the three books time to expand as you read them, which is why it may not suit everyone. But if you dedicate yourself to reading all three books fully, you will understand just how clever and addictive the trilogy is!

I don't have much time, so will be brief. This book was a let down. I really enjoyed the original trilogy by T Canavan, and this trilogy got off to an excellent start with the first book. The 2nd book was also good, but only half a book, so I was anticipating the final installment with eagerness.
It is not very good. Not a lot of action, and lots of missed opportunities for creating an engaging read.
A lot of build up, with out any real delivery, and it ends quickly and poorly after 500 pages (plus the other two books!) of build up.
Summary - worth reading if you have read the first two, but overall a let down, and this trilogy was no where near as good as the original "magician" trilogy.
great book and best so far in this series - Rated
exelent book. much better than the first two. the reason i only gave it 4 stars is because the ending takes a very long time to arive so when it does you already know whats going to happen (at least i did) yet a few things did surprise me which kept me reading rather than just flicking to the end to see if i was right. a great read and probaly the best book in this series.
brilliant - Rated
This book is among my all time favourites, and below I shall just make a few good points and a few bad points (in no particular order, just the order they come into my mind lol):
strong, clever, female lead character
reminiscent of the black magician trilogy
cliches - in regards to the gods and the 'game' that they play with humanity; also the War of the Gods has been used a bit too much
nice world that she has created, with a good magic system
most of the characters are fully realised, although a few of them are two-dimensional; also, she introduces a lot of characters (like in the other books), and it can be a bit hard to keep track of them
it should be noted though that there is nothing original left in the fantasy genre, just new 'spins' on old ideas, so it isn't Canavan's fault that a lot of us feel the story is cliched. she has, however, but some 'new spins' (the imortal wilds, the dreamweavers, the land being imbued with magic, the gods being beings of magic etc).
all in all, a brilliant read that will keep you occupied for days! Buy it or miss out (of course you should buy the first two books before buying this one unless you have already read those two, then of course go ahead and buy this one lol).
The ending you expect but good all the same - Rated
Voice of the Gods is better than book one and two. It moves along at a faster pace again and is a real page turner. It maintains the great continuity as part of the series and the books flow seamlessly into one another.
In this book some events that occured were unexpected. The intelligent characters in the story consider all possibilities however and leaves little room for surprise. I still could not give it a five because I still did not get enough of an emotional reaction. I guess the characters were all too hard core to come over all unnecessary.
For me it was a happy ending and I loved the story. Also I thought the subject matter was quite inspiring.
