Travesty, not travel - Rated 1/5
Possibly the worst book of its kind I have ever come across. Its opening paragraphs list reasons why you might not go there (poor inhabitants, naff shopping, strange architecture, etc.) then lamely suggests that this gives Vilnius an inexplicable charm which must appeal to someone out there. Add a pathetic joke about Hannibal Lecter having been born there (but not ALL the citizens wear masks as he does!) and you have the measure of this very feeble book. I bought it thinking the name Thomas Cook spoke for itself but had to exchange it for another book as I was rapidly going off the idea of going to Vilnius at all.
