As complete as could be! - Rated I bought this item as I am planning to visit a friend in Macedonia and I wanted to prepare well for going. This guide tells you so much about the land that it feels as if you've already been there. Not such a surprise maybe when you know that the author has lived in the country herself for half a decade and has travelled arround quite a bit too. The first half deals with all the typical things you can expect in this country, dealing with the people, the climate, money, customs, language, people groups, transport, prices, accomodation, using the Internet, opening times and how to behave as a guest in a way that will be appreciated etc. and the second half of the book gives a lot of information about different areas and many towns, all over the country. It tells you how to go about when you want to participate in a whole list of activities, like hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, visiting ancient archeological sites, buying stuff, etc. It includes many helpful maps too. To put a long story short: A VERY GOOD GUIDE and not expensive at all! It's not a small book, but this one is going to stay in my hand bag at all times!
