A Very Special Gift for an older sibling - Rated 5/5
I loved this book even before I opened it. It is tied with blue ribbon (does this mean I'm having a boy?) My daughter who is 5 loved reading it and was soon looking for photos to stick inside. As this is her book it has made her feel very important and involved with the "bump". I bought this book as there are two generations of sibling rivalry in my family and I wanted to prevent this happening again.

disappointed - Rated 2/5
This is an anglicised version of an American book, but unfortunately a lot of the very medicalised attitudes towards birth remain. I've found it pretty useless for my 4 year old, as I'm planning a home birth, and it assumes that 'Mummy' will be going to hospital, that a doctor will deliver the baby (not a midwife) and that the child will have to cope with Mummy being away in hospital. We've only been able to fill in the first few pages, which talk about his birth and what he could do to help the baby when it arrives, and we've really enjoyed doing that, but the majority of the book is completely unsuitable for us.

Does exactly what it says... - Rated 4/5
Really beautiful book, perhaps aimed at toddler age. I have added bits for my older daughter. There are a few places it mentions mummy and daddy, which is difficult as my children have differnt daddy's! But generally great, with lots of places to add pictures, draw bits and write things that are individually relevent.
