A wonderful, enjoyable and extensive intro to the greek myths - Rated
Like all the other reviewers here I would strongly recommend this book for any young children and their parents. Beautifully illustrated and written; my 5.5year-old has loved every moment and cherished every story. Some nights we can't stop and read three stories on the trot. Great challenge for the reader to pronounce the wonderful Greek names too! The chronological order provides a feel for how the myths start off as a story about creation. And the whole book gives an extensive modern account of the wonders of human nature - whether god-like, good, moral, or down-right ugly. We'll be sad when we finish this one.

terrific introduction to the Greek myths - Rated
We bought this book for our 6 year old son as an introduction to the Greek myths. It's well written and beautifully illustrated and perfectly suitable for children of 6+. It covers all the best known stories (including the Trojan war) linked by Atticus's journey across Greece to compete in a story-telling competition. I have to say after the first couple of times we read the book my son wasn't remotely interested in the linking bits about Atticus and his donkey and their journey - what really caught his interest was the myths themselves. We've read the book as a whole about 5 times. Now we just dip into it to read specific stories. Very good value.

Excellent retelling of Greek myths. All are nicely bite sized so that you are not stretching to reach the end when the children are tired. They absolutely adore it, although I find the shortness of the some of the stories and lack of detail a bit frustrating but hey, I didn't buy the book for me! I'm just worried what I am going to go on to next! Highly recommended.

Very popular with two boys aged 5 and 7 - Rated
Our two boys, 5 and 7, both enjoy this book very much. The Greek names may be difficult for the readers but are not for them. As ancient myths some of the stories might be frightening or gory, but they are quite unperturbed, even by Zeus and his fratricide! Highly recommended.

Great storytelling myth book of all time - Rated
For a very long time there has been a real lack (despite many attemps) of a superb retelling of the Greek myths for younger children. This version will be with us for a long time, it is to be hoped, as it is vibrant, immediate, and above all, fun! A really lovely book for all the family to share.
