Book Details / Review - supplied by Amazon UK

I Want to be a Cow Girl is a story about a young girl who has her heart set on becoming a cow girl. She certainly doesn't want to be a girl who cleans and cooks, or be schoolgirl or a girlie girl. She "... just wants to be a cowgirl. What's so wrong with that?"

She imagines a different world from her life in the city, imagining what might be. Can it really happen? Does she really just have to fantasise? The humorous, rhyming text is accompanied by unusual, quite comical illustrations, and together these make the book suitable for children aged five years and older. --Susan Naylor

"Even without the startling ending this would be a great book--the last page turns it into an outstanding one". --The Independent

Customer Reviews

Wonderful - Rated 5/5
Every time we read this book (i.e. every night) I find a wonderful new detail, from the cactus clouds to the father ironing his hat.

It has become a firm favourite, and all the adults I've shown it to are similarly tickled. My sone particularly loves the last page and gets wildly excited to see the father tossing away his phone and keys.

A free-spirited and quirky childrens' book for all ages - Rated 5/5
This is a sassy little story, which captured my imagination immediately. The illustrations, which evoke those of Quentin Blake, add to the playful, comic nature of the book, without sugar-coating.

I have already bought copies for two of my cowgirl-loving, 24 year old friends, who think the book is hillarious.

A free-spirited and quirky childrens' book, for all ages.
