Give the book a bleedin' chance.... - Rated This book sets itself up as a cultural and advice laden guide to life in South county Dublin (Deee-Foor to the natives) It's not a literary masterpiece roigh. AND his punctuation is apalling roigh. He says roigh rather a lot and refers to the dort too. The book is sexist and downright stupid in parts but has some surprisingly accurate insights. There are even one or two laugh out loud bits like how the natives of Bray regard the big moving target which moves across their badlands. It won't win the Brooker (that's a prioze, innit?) but not so unforgivably bad that it should live out it's days as a doorstop.
