What a magical moment - total silence in my class of lively four year olds! And the cause? They were listening to Beware of the Bears: a lovely, well-written story of what might have happened after Goldilocks' visit to the home of the three bears. The children were transfixed by the story and at the end there was a moment of silence as the full impact of the ending sunk in. Then there was laughter and excited chatter. What more could you want from a children's story? Magical!
A humorous sequel to the classic Goldilocks story - Rated
After Goldilocks has done her worst in the three bears' house, they decide to teach her a lesson by returning the favour. Baby bear follows her to work out where she lives and then the bears have great fun making a terrible mess throughout the house. But when Goldilocks comes back to pick up something she'd forgotten the bears realize it isn't Goldilocks' house after all. OOPS. Whose house is it? My four-year-old daughter loves the bears' naughtiness - her eyes grow wide as saucers - and then is horrified when she realizes it isn't Goldilocks's house. Quick, can the bears get out before the real owner returns? The illustrations are lovely too with little details to make an adult smile too. A fun read - highly recommended.

Beware of the Bears is a 'what happened next' story after Goldilocks wrecked the bears house. It will delight young children,parents and grandparents alike while incorporating important lessons to learn on social skills from the antics of the bears and Goldilocks. The illustrations are a delight, with lots to look at and discuss while snuggled down with your child. The print is easy to read for learner readers too. This book is very funny, will provoke lots of discussion and become a bedtime favourite amongst young readers to be read again and again but beware there is a sting in the tail......
hilarious sequel to Goldilocks and the 3 Bears - Rated
My 4 year old loved the mischief of the 3 bears in this very funny sequel to the Goldilocks story. The author takes the themes and language of the original and plays around with them, I laughed out loud and so did she. The humour is quite sophisticated, but perfectly accessible to small children who know the Goldilocks story inside out. The illustrations are spot on too. It has a surprise ending that delights all, and has become a favourite in this house.
