Original and best - Rated Glad to see the publishers didn't back down to pressure to 'book burn' the original scripting. In these days of removing 'offensive' wording or references, it's good to see that some publishers won't be bullied into altering historical texts and imagery. A fantastic book by a fantastic artist. Classic Comic Strips - Rated Delighted to see this republished in its original form - what's the point in a reprint of the original edition if it's just going to be changed around. It belongs to an age where certain phrases were acceptable. No doubt in 50 years some of today's phrases and ideals will be frowned upon, but there's no point in trying to hide the fact they once existed and were accepted. At the end of the day, it's a comic. Read it and enjoy. It'll appeal to all ages. Once your familiar with Scottish dialects, anyhoo! Very Sad - Rated I bought this as an avid fan - now I am very disappointed. The reprint still has the original racist references to black people inside - the publishers have refused to ammend it. Although it is still funny in parts - it is not suitable for children who could be influenced by the racist comments inside and in particular could use of some words which will cause offence to ethnic minorities in todays world. A pity.

I bought this as an avid fan - now I am very disappointed.
The reprint still has the original racist references to black people inside - the publishers have refused to ammend it.
