Great read - Great writing - Rated
I have read alot of footballing books and this is by far the best i've seen. James Mosely claims this is his first book. I hope he written more. A great blend of fact and a slight touch of humour at times makes this impossible to put down. The story starts with a young poor Ronaldo and takes you upto near present day. A fascinating read even if you are not a massive fan of the Brazillian. The insight into the workings of some of Europes most thrilling sides and also the behind the scenes working of Brazillian football is great.
I would recommend this to any football fan, young or old. If you don't enjoy it I'd be very surprised.

This is quite simply one the best sporting biographies I have read; up there with David Remnick's 'King of the World' about Ali.
Not only has the author clearly made exhaustive attempts to glean as much info about Ronaldo's career as possible, it is written with a style, humour and flair that is often missing from such books.
The author's account of Ronaldo's career alone is fascinating, but not just that, his insight and appraisal of the Real Madrid/galactico era is superb - far better than the glut of so called specialist books on that subject which are currently on the market. He also clearly has a deep understanding of what football means to Ronaldo's native Brazilians too.
This book is a hugeley enjoyable page turner and is a must for any sports fan.

Ronaldo: The Journey of a Genius, was a breath of fresh air from the usual biographies you come across. It is obvious that the author actually has an in depth knowledge of his subject. A must for any football fan.

"..Journey of a Genius" is a insightful read into the history of Ronaldo's rise and fall and ultimate rise again in world football. A true rags to riches story which author Mosley captures with imagination, wit and true depth from his research. Still amazed by Mosley's observation that up until the 2002 World cup finals, Brazil and Germany had never met in a World Cup series. There are some marvellous detailed interviews with key people who were influential in Ronaldo's journey to the top. Mosley recounts the tug of war battles between club and country over Ronaldo with great articulation and really makes you think how tough the road has been for the kid from Bento Ribeiro. This is a must read for any world football fan. Both player and author seem on the same road....Recommended.

good incisive read and an absolute must for anyone interested in ronaldo.
not just for trainspotters though and was originally purchased as a christmas present for my nephew but i had quick glance and now he is getting something else!
