If you're only going to read one of Donya's books choose this. - Rated
This is a unique well written and often gripping story of how Donya came to be an angel of mercy re-uniting mothers with their children who've been abducted by their Muslim fathers and taken back to their father's homelands.
Disappointingly for anybody who read her first book -Heroine of the Desert- the first half of this book is just a slightly briefer repeat of that. But then the 2nd half of the book tells the very touching tale of how her own kids were abducted by her own husband and how she goes to rescue them from war-torn Iraq.
If you're only going to read one of Donya's books then i would recommend this one,but I'd give both of them 5*
AN HONEST WOMEN - Rated
After reading Donya's first book Heroine Of The Desert which incidentally, was a great read....I was compelled to read her second book No One Takes My Children and found her to be honest of her past (before converting to the Muslim Faith) and her honesty as to her future and children heartfelt. Despite the moral issues in the book which I didn't have a problem with unlike the lady below, I found it a great read and if everyone was so open about their life then, maybe a book would be forthcoming from us all - a leaf as to honesty could be taken here!
A hypocrite, cashing in on these poor women. - Rated
This book could have been interesting. If only it had been entirely written by someone else. The author, Donya, presents herself as a hero, whilst telling us some truly shocking stories of her own relationships where she systematically used and abandoned a series of rich boyfriends [...] Whilst she doesn't see too much wrong with what she did, so determined is she that it's mother first, always, it is a shocking example of hypocrisy that annoyed me so much I nearly stopped reading.
I'm a female myself, but her amazing double standards annoyed me tremendously. The story, on the other hand, is a good one and it is nice to see this issue coming out into the light, my sympathies with many of the other women in this book.
VERY DISAPOINTING - Rated
This story simply does not have the ring of truth about and I always found myself wondering if the book had been more than just "normally" ghost written - at times it seemed that the ghost writer probably had a much greater input than the author - prominently displayed on the cover. A waste of time and money - if the reader is interested in an authentic version of events.
