Customer Reviews

Ring Master - Rated 5/5
Being Welsh and a life-long Cardiff fan I obviously found this book very interesting. Ring was an exciting and entertaining player. He always thinks outside of the box. Sometimes it didn't come off, but most of the time he was magical. Watching Ring as a child at the Arms Park was mesmerising. He was the player I wanted to emulate and I used to try and copy his tricks for hours over the park. Not surprisingly this book is as interesting as the player. Ring works entertainingly through his career looking at the highs and the heart-felt lows.

This book gives an excellent insight into a very interesting part of Welsh Rugby - notably the decline in the late 80s to the beginning of the 90s. He also gives a fascinating insight into baseball in the Cardiff area. Towards the end of the book, he focuses on management and coaching. Rugby fans will find his views on coaching within Wales very interesting. Not surprising for Ring he doesn't hold back and gives his honest opinions of the systems and the people involved.

I recommend this to all rugby fans and especially to Gav.
