Excellent stuff, if a little short. - Rated My only gripe with this book is the fact that it's more pamhplet than tome. When the description calls it "a synopsis" they're not joking, but I have no problems with the actual content of the book, which is first class. There's a few nice diagrams and cutaways, and it contains insights which I have not seen in any other material on the subject. This may be in part because the author actually served on many of the submarines he describes, so he certainly knows his stuff inside out. In short, it's too short. I wanted this level of detail and knowledge to go on for ages, so I docked it a star for that alone. Recommended reading for those interested in subs and the cold war in general.
