What utter rubbish. - Rated
I seriously worry for the sanity of the first two reviewers of this book, which have given it the undue high rating it has received. This is an egotistical piece of utter tripe from start to finish proving what an utter hipster bore Lovejoy is. This is the worse book ever written by frankly one of the most tedious and downright idiotic characters that has ever graced the earth.
Best Sports Biog I've read since Frak Brunos Memoirs - Rated
It was only a matter of time before Lovejoy buckled under the pressure of the general public, putting pen to paper and unleashing his autobiography. For years Tim has been beaming into the nations living rooms as the face of a diverse range of high profile TV shows such as Soccer AM, the best of Soccer AM and soccer am 'the best bits'. This book is a warts 'n' all biopic that tackles the taboo issues that some so called celebrities daren't touch, hairddye and Internet chatrooms have nowhere to hide within the covers of this book. This book goes deeper than any other into what makes a middle class man from Watford tick. Spellbinding stuff.
Lovejoy is a Legend - Rated
Like most people my age (28) I have watched SOCCER AM religiously for the past ten years, and was well disappointed when Lovejoy left over the summer (lovely as Helen Chamberlain is, it just isn't the same without him, and I still watch it, but only because everything else is utter rubbish). However, if you're missing SOCCER AM then this book is the perfect cure!! It's written in pure Lovejoy style, there are loads of good gags, some great behind-the-scenes stuff with Fenners and the gang, and best of all, Lovejoy actually has some real opinions above and beyond the usual "money/foreigners/etc is ruining the game" stuff that you read in Daily Mail and Guardian newspaper columns. This really is a book that makes you smile about football and brings you the feelgood factor. I really can't recommend it highly enough, except to say that I will be buying copies for my brother-in-law and a few mates for Crimbo! A right touch!
Lovejoy's gravy train. - Rated
Absolute tripe. An ex Watford fan who now supports Chelsea tells you all you need to know about this middle class bore.Making a fortune out of football and name dropping Beckham at every chance.
As Ally Ross of The Sun pointed out, there are 38 pictures of himself in the book.8 more than Nelson Mandela used in his autobiography.
