Beautiful & Intriguing Read... a 'Must buy'! - Rated 5/5
I was visiting London when the 'World's Most Photographed' exhibit opened at the National Portrait Gallery. After walking through, I had to buy the book, at least as a souvenir, and was surprised to find it as interesting, provoking and one-of-a-kind as the original collection of photographs I looked at.

Today it seems like we're surrounded by images of our favorite celebrities, but this book rises far above the crowd. Granted, it bases its narrative around the ten most intriguing and famous figures of our time. But, instead of relying on a collection of photographs that we've all seen thousands of times, the book is largely based upon lesser-known and more candid images that capture our favorite celebrities as people, giving the reader a newfound insight into their characters and personalities.

From the laugh-out-loud photographs of Elvis getting friendly with German showgirls right before he hit it big, to the action shots of JFK playing football in the streets of Georgetown, all the way to the lesser-known pictures of Queen Victoria smiling and of Audrey Hepburn in her ballerina days, this book has changed my perspective on celebrity. The narration weaves perfectly through the book's visual terrain as Robin Muir explains the story behind each picture. This book allows the reader to understand how photography, even one camera shot, had the capacity to turn an extraordinary nobody into a worldwide somebody.

Fun, easy-to-read and truly breathtaking to look at. I fully recommend it!
