Fantastic!! - Rated This is a brilliant book that really gets you thinking. As a Reception teacher, I'm always struck by how difficult listening is for children. We tell children to listen but don't really teach it. Until now! This is such a practical book and makes so much more sense than the 'Literacy Strategy' which is far too formal and rigid. I've used some of the games this year and will be doing the whole shebang with the new intake in September. The B.B.C Razzledazzle programme, goes alongside this book and the kids love it. Seriously, this is the best teaching book I've seen. Buy it and use it. Give the Literacy Strategy the elbow! (If you're worried that you won't be covering what you ought to be, don't. The author is a literacy advisor on the Primary Strategy team.)
