Not much in the budget category - Rated 
I have just purchased this book and was very disappointed. Most of the products (with a few exceptions), were very pricey, and if like me, you are on a tight budget there's not much under £10. Also, not much diversity of products, the same names tend to crop up again and again which makes me wonder if the authors were biased towards certain makes (freebies spring to mind!!).
There are such a lot of products in the stores which very rarely cropped up, and just because the product has a high price tag doesn't necessarily mean it is a good product. I suggest you get some unbiased advice on cosmetics and ask friends, family etc. and/or get a makeover in any good salon or department store.
All in all I feel that this book, in my opinion, was a waste of money.

Fantastic book - I loved the way the reviews are based on what real people think about the products rather than the way they get hyped by magazines.
Buying new make-up and skincare can be very confusing, but this book helps guide you through it and hopefully not waste too much money!

This is an ideal book if you dont know which products to use set out in a per category basis eg hand cream. On the strength of this book I bought the top performing handcream (Circaroma, Rose), and after 6 months repurchased as it was so good! I have bought 8 copies of this book for friends and family for Christmas as they always ask me which moisturiser is best, what should I try for this? Etc. I do recommend it BUT if you already know what you like, what suits you, what works for you and your face/hair/body etc. then you dont really need this.

I bought this book after purchasing another beauty book a year ago. It provided a good range of sections than most other beauty books and the beauty of it is that it fits in your handbag. I thought quite a few of the sections did not really provide a diversity of products (or enough for that matter), many seemed to givea lot of higher priced products, whereas other beauty books gave a variety. This may be due the survey that the authors carried out but it does say on the front, 'over 1000 products tested' Plus it does not tell you what ingredients to look out for or to avoid. this can be extremley useful for looking at other products whic hhave not been listed in the book and sensitive skin issues.

I brought this book less then a week ago, I really love it, I don't know if I'll let it leave my side, its so great, it's one of those things you can pick up and dip into over and over again, each time gaining more knowledge.
Such a handy book, if you never did know what beauty products are best for you and actually work, then this is a life saver.
