Hidden catch at the end! - Rated
This book is interesting, though no new ideas. But as a 'fan' of dieting, I need some motivation! Mine died when I reached the final chapters. This is the bit where she says the diet will only REALLY work if you take the right supplements - and you can buy the ones she developed, available from a website. It totalled something like £50 a month! Honestly, that put me off completely - I gave to book to Oxfam.
If you want to make a change.... - Rated
My body shape has always puzzled me. Arms and legs just fine but a big fat tummy in the middle. This is what got me to buy this book as in the past becuase of this tum I have even been congraulated on my pregnancy :( For me, this was just what I needed, after reading I felt like it was speaking to me and it prompted me to make a change which I am currently sticking to. Of course most of it is common sense, eat right, excercise and try and live stress free so Id recommend this book if you are prepared to do a little work, you want to understand more about your body and you need a motivation boost. I hope this helps. (PS I will try and update this in 3 months as thats how long its supposed to take)
Worth a try - Rated
Try this book, it's a bit different from the usual diet books but it won't help eveyone. Be prepared to change what you eat for it to work, as the author says "try it for three months", then see what a difference it has made.I would have prefered it to have more meal suggestions/recipes. One word of warning though, Don't buy Mastering Cortisol as well as it is exactly the same book with a different title.
I feel so much better! - Rated
I found this book really suited me personally. If you suffer from signs of stress such as severe bloating, muscle pain, chest pain, hair loss and other signs of stress then this diet will probably help you. It just made sense to me. There was a lot of nutritional facts that I already knew however I did not find the author patronising and it was helpful to be reminded of these facts. Its one thing knowing them and another thing doing them! She has managed to convince me not to grab a coffee first thing in the morning - and thats some achievement!
Great book! - Rated
What I liked so much with Marilyn Glenville's approach to Fat around the Middle, was that it was not ALL blamed on our diet, but also on the stressful life we lead. The logic of controlling our stress hormones to keep our blood sugar in balance and so stop the body storing fat around the middle was a new logic to me and very motivating. That, together with positive exercise has helped me trim up and feel that I am again in control of my body and that my extra kilo or two, was not just an 'inevitable' menopausal symptom! This is the third book I have bought by Marilyn and I have learned a lot from them all.
