Original and ground-breaking - Rated 5/5
It is rare that a law book covers new ground but this area of law has until now been covered sporadically at most. This book ambitiosly sets out to cover the whole area, very often having to look for analogies in unrelated areas to get near to the answers. It is a high quality and commendable book which I recommend to anyone.

Very useful for all businesses - Rated 5/5
I am a solicitor specialising in IT law and in my view this is a ground-breaking work covering all aspects of e-mail and internet law. I found it very clear and have been using it to assist my practice.

A new standard has been set - Rated 5/5
I have been practising at the bar for almost 20 years now and have come across more bad law books than good, but this certainly doesnt fit into that category!

Paul McGrath approaches what is (lets face it) a very stale and turgid side of the law with great vigour and humour. However, it still manages at the same time to be very informative and intelligently written. Could he, over the next few years, become an authority on this subject? Quite possibly in my opinion.

My only negative comment about the book is that at times it seems to avoid the depth that any great work of art on the British legal system should have. Mr McGrath should have shown the courage to tackle some of the more sensitive issues to do with the internet and e-mails. One gets the opinion that he could have gone into greater depth on these issues, showing examples and explaining how this will come to effect our clients in the years to come.

However, that is only a small point in what is otherwise a thrilling and very useful book. I would recommend it to any lawyer, potential lawyer or even someone who is intellectually curious enough to want to study a small bit of UK law. I think we will all be reading a lot more about Mr McGrath in the years to come. A new standard in legal writing has been set.
