Croatia (Cadogan Guide) - Rated
I completely disagree with the other reviewer. We bought this book last year because it seemed more comprehensive and thorough than the Lonely Planet, and we found it both entertaining and informative. The inclusion of folk tales and anecdote make it a more interesting read than the average guidebook, and the language is more akin to that of magazines and newspapers than "childish". We also liked the short essays on unusual aspects of Croatian culture and even the History chapter was a good read, a section I usually skip. The only lists I noticed were of chapter highlights, and we found these useful. Instead, our one complaint was the text-heavy design. If you like your guidebooks dry and academic then this book may not suit you. If you want them to entertain as well as inform, this is a great choice.

i bought this book because i enjoyed the style of writing in the cadogan guide to morocco. However, i was greatly disappointed by this book. The writer simply makes lists of things which leave you breathless at the end of them and still non the wiser as to really what to do or where to go. The style is also childish with examples such as "naughty nudey beaches" and having "your own wheels". I had to exchange this book for a more comprehensive guide. Only buy this book if you want a laugh and not if you want useful information about the country.
