Would recomend - Rated
I'll be honest, I'm quite young and am a fan of the magical girl anime/manga so my opinion may be slightly bias. I started watching this when I was about 6 years old, and 11 years on I've recently finished the last volume of Master of the Clow, and simply loved it. It says "All Ages" on the 'front cover', and I completely agree. This isn't just for kids, it CAN be enjoyed by all ages. Sure, it hasn't got quite the maturity of, I don't know, Elfen Lied or Life, [two others I would recommend], but it has everything a good manga should have - romance, humour, cute characters, and a wonderfully happy ending. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, particularly first time manga readers, as it a great story. But make sure to read the first volumes beforehand!
This translation is very good! - Rated
Several years since I read this series in Japanese (my mother tongue), I found this English series. I enjoyed reading Sakura in English. When I found my old Japanese Sakura books, I feel something wrong.
I read this book in English, uncountable times. So when Sakura talked in Japanese, it's very odd to me.
This translation is very good. And don't change anyone's name. Many Japanese manga changed person's name to English. I hate this.
But in this publisher's books it not happen. It is very important to me.
And trivia. Yue is the moon in Chinese language (or so believed in Japan) , not Japanese.
Sakura is very popular name in Japan, most favorite flower to many Japanese people.
In Japanese custom, person's name is family name first. In another Japanese custom, Japanese people's name in English is first name first. I don't know why.
It is not some kiddies book - Rated
This manga gets the unfair image of being a "kiddies book", well it isn't. I have volumes 1 - 3 (I'm hoping to get the last three volumes for christmas ^^). I have also started collecting the first series (manga). All the volumes are amazing. I watched the series on CITV and loved it, unfortunatly they stopped showing them. The first difference between the TV series and the book is that some of the character names have been changed (Tomoyo is called Madisonin the TV series)I fully suggest buying these manga, the artwork is great and I really feel sorry for Li. This volume is just the start of a funny and intersting story about Sakura, Tomoyo, Li and many other character you will get to know and love. So in conclusion, BUY NOW.
CardCaptor Sakura Master of the clow part one - Rated
This book is great ^_^ . I have watched all the TV series, and still the book and tv series are great, but in the book there are a few variations that in the TV series is not there, though it is the true story that was written before the series. Even so I loved the whole book and am now collecting them as I have an obsession with card captors. I only began to get into the books after my 16th birthday. I have been hucked on Manga and Anime since the age of 6 around 1993. But the book is great any child or adult will love it, even if they have never heard about it before and the illustrations are very good but in black and white. Also it is presented like a Japanese comic book. The book gives you instructions how to read it. It run from the back to front but is still very entertaining. Hope that you purchase it and enjoy it thoroughly. Love me. Eve ^_^
The First Anime - Rated
I found this to be My Fav Anime that I have ever seen since 2001. Action pact, It is GREAT with thrilling storyline and characters. I feel that this is one of Tokyopop's best that they have published along with Rebirth, Gundam, Immortal Rain(Not Published Yet...) and Fruits Basket. Please feel free to look up those tittles because you won't be disapointed. I must say that this is the best class Artwork that I have seen in a Manga for a Long, Long time. ;) Thanks, Kolvac
