Customer Reviews

A superb read - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. - Rated 5/5
This book is a superb read and highly recommended.

The author has trawled through Billy Bray's unpublished journal from 1864 - a 49,000 word one sentence, which has now been grammar-tised, translated (where necessary) and interpreted! And F. W Bourne book about Billy Bray and has cross referenced the various editions for changed - most intriguing. The author also quotes from other lesser known antiquarian books to give other authors comments about their time with Billy.

The author has quoted from numerous sources and has put all the known facts together from Billy's life into one complete book.

Also, there are many explanations at to what words mean, many of which are Cornish or from the mining industry, which would mean nothing to the common man, except for this hard research.

The author has visited the places that are connected to Billy's life and so is not writing from a distance, but has been able to get a feel for the geography is which Billy moved and ministered.

The author has really got inside the head and heart of Billy Bray and explains many of Billy's saying, to what he means then and not what he words or phrases mean today.

If you could buy one book on Billy Bray, this must be it!
