Excellent! - Rated This is a great book showing the best Hotels and Inns in the U.K. Since purchasing it I have used it several times, never to be dissapointed. Its definitely worth a buy. Another gem... - Rated You cannot go wrong with the Alalstiar Sawday guides. I look forward to the new editions being released to see what new properties are included. The properties range from cheap and cheerful B&B's to really plush hotels, there is something here for everyone. I have used the guides to book properties in Italy, France, Ireland and England, and have yet to be disappointed by my choices. This book is a real find amid lots of mediocre guides out there... I have most of Sawday's guides and this is typical of his unique insights. The guide lists delightful places to rest your head which often have a feel of yester-year Britain. If you know Sawday's style you're never left in any doubt that he has got to the heart of every place he's stayed. The writing is a little flowery but completely personal and you'll find yourself eager to try out recommendations. Each place listed has a decent sized write up, where to get good food, prices and local activities. Definitely worth checking out. gets you the hidden gems - Rated The whole series of these books are refreshing in the over occupied market of guide books especially as they point out sustainable places to stay as well as the normal stuff and they are eco friendly in their printing. The new UK publication is packed full of good recommendations and written in an upbeat style, the places are sometimes off the beaten track and always offer a good standard of accomodation. The layout is easy to navigate throgh and they are a handy size. My only gripe and it is a tiny tiny one is that sometimes the reviews are a bit too effusive, for example for 'cute' read 'twee'. However as a whole great value for money and you can trust that where you stay is above the norm and a little gem.
