Fantastic! Always keep a copy in the glove compartment of the car and if you need somewhere to stop for a pint and a lunch, pull out the Sawday's and find the nearest one to hand.
Only negative point is the maps are a bit small, so locating your nearest pub isn't all that easy. But it is well worth the effort trying to find the nearest Sawday's pub rather than just stopping off in the closest one - believe me!

My wife and love travelling around the British Isles and the Pubs and Inns of England & Wales is packed full of great places to either visit for just a drink or to stay a night or two.
Over the years we have discovered some amazingly good Pubs and Inns often in areas of the country where you might least expect to find something. The quality of the Pubs and Inns is of a very high quality indeed and we aways look out for any new entries to visit and try out.
The guide is well written and well presented and the photographs are a great help as well. All in all I cannot recommend this book highly enough, it is simply the best!!

This is up to the high standard of other Sawday guides, with reliably accurate and up-to-date descriptions, high-quality photographs and very helpful use of symbols to identify establishments with specific features. Highly recommended, especially now that non-smokers can breathe clean air in pubs and inns!

I have been a fan of Special Places to Stay books for some years and once again this one has come up with the goods,a travel guide that you can trust to point you in the right direction whether you want somewhere to stay for 1 night or 1 week.The sumptious photographs and detailed descriptions give you the exact feel for each entry.Don't book a holiday without looking through an Alastair Sawday guide first.
