Steve Harris is a literary delight. - Rated I was tired of little gift books - full of slapdash illustrations and unimaginative 'toilet' humour - until I discovered this one. Written in mock-anthropological style, it's charming, charismatic and darkly comic. The author's illustrations are tightly composed little masterpieces. I've never heard of Mr.Harris before (I imagine him as a dusty, pipe-wielding old alcoholic, for some reason), but I hope we will be seeing a lot more of him soon. A surreal and hilarious commentary on the world of hats - Rated I don't usually like 'novelty' books but this one is a gem. This surreal commentary on millenary history is perfectly complemented by Steve Harris's illustrations, which simply ooze satire from the page. Quite often defying category, the closest description is Eddie Izzard meets the League of Gentleman - but Steve Harris has a darkly comic flair of his own which is well worth checking out.
