A definate requirement for first timers - Rated I needed a book that could talk me through every move step by step. I thought I knew enough to wing it but it turns out I didn't. I was so please I bought this book, so far I have made in nearly half way through a blanket for my friends baby and I have loads of other ideas. I dont use the patterns much but I will try some out when I start another project. crochet for beginners - Rated After trying to learn to crochet from numerous books, I tried this one. It was brilliant! Really easy to understand with easy to follow pictures and simple projects to try out. Every step was explained in a simple and clear way. SInce this I have done a few crochet projects and all have turned out well. Non crocheter, but loving it. - Rated As a knitter I decided to get a book about crocheting just to see how it is done and how it could complement my knitting. This book did the job and made me forget my needles for a short time. Easy to understand, well ilustrated, and full of cool projects, it also has a good stitch library, which makes it suitable for beguinners and challenging enough to want to go further. Thumbs up also for the handy spiral bounding. The best way to learn crochet from a book - Rated I've browsed through many of the basic crochet books on the market, but this one has the clearest pictures and most comprehensive stitch guides. The illustrations are all photographs, which can be unclear in some books, but here they use very bright, thick yarn and the pictures are very clear. They also take you through each tiny step of forming the stitches, whereas many other books just show the beginning and end. There is a wealth of crochet stitches in the book, making it an effective stitch library in itself. It also has some very interesting patterns to improve your skills. Overall, great value. Great intro to crochet - Rated I have other learn to crochet books but this is the beat! The diagrams are clear and plentiful. Differences between UK and US crochet terms are explained well. The projects steadily increase in difficulty with the use of charts described in detail.
