AWESOME!! - Rated
This book had me hooked right from the start. I always read before bed and each day I just couldn't wait for 'that time'...:-s
Although the story is set amongst and around vampires, it really is a great boy meets girl love story, though not too mushy. This is by far the best book I have read in ages and the good news.....it's part of a trilogy and the 2 books that follow don't disappoint!
Dreadfully Over-rated - Rated
I was given this book as a present and though it is really not in the genre I would usually read from, I had heard it was great from many of the girls at school. I managed to read the book in about two days and I will admit it is rather compelling, leading you on and making you want to read more. However, I felt the chapters began to drag on leaving you unsatisfied and bored. The story itself has potential but the dialogue was (for want of a better word) "soppy". It seems every conversation is another where Bella and Edward argue about who loves who most and why they should(n't) be together. As for the characters themselves, I found an instant dislike for Bella. I found her to be selfish and even down right rude at times. She was being an awkward teenager making certain that no one could please her, but in a sneaky way. I found the basis of the relationship between them to be very superficial as she only likes him because he's beautiful and attractive as everyone sees him and he only likes her because he wants to kill her and drink all her blood. There was nothing in this even remotely related to the traditional vampires of stories making it farfetched and just plain silly. I can imagine why many girls my age (15) would enjoy this book, for it is easy to follow for simple minded people. In my eyes it's just sickly, predictable pulp fiction and I have no intention in following the rest of the series. If you want to read a real "masterpiece" try Orwell or something.
THE BEST BOOK YOU'LL EVER READ!! - Rated
This is the best book I have ever read and I think it will be the best book you'll ever read.
Twilight is about vampires, but its not only a horror, in fact it hardly even fits into that catagory and that's coming from me, a person who is easily scared. It kind of a romance as well, its also a comedy.
I loved it and I think you will too so definately buy this you will NOT regret it!!
Bite Me, but it's good - Rated
Hello, my name is Lyndsay, and I'm an Edwardholic. It's been 12 hours since I last read his name.
Maybe that will sound familiar to anyone who will end up reading this book. I've read it 5 times, and I have no intention to stop anytime soon.
So, when Bella moved to Forks to live with her dad, she never thought it would be easy. Of course, then she saw Edward, and that first look was all it took. He was beautiful, perfect, and a vampire. But more than that, he was also about to fall for her as badly as she had fallen for him.
I have never read a book which so captures me, holds me. I have a compulsion to read this book, to reread. The author, Stephanie Meyer, has used the subject matter in such a way that the fact that there are vampires seems more incidental than vital to the story. Bella is instantly likable, while Edward Cullen would rival even the most famous of heros. Added to that, the rest of the Cullen clan, and the few friends that Bella makes at Forks high add to the idea that this is really a tale about normal life than the supernatural. This book should be read by everyone.
Fall in love with this book ... - Rated
Don't judge this book by the back cover! This isn't the type of book i would normally read (vampire high school love story!) and only picked it up because the main character has the same name as my grandmother.
But then i fell in love; with Edward and with the book itself. I wish i'd bought the next book before i finished this one as i feel at a loss without the next installment.
This book will leave you wanting more .. be careful of paper cuts when turning the pages so fast!
