HMS Trooper--an unsung hero - Rated
This is a very good, well written and well researched book which sheds light on the life of submariners in WW2.

The book follows the life of HMS Trooper from her building on the Clyde at Greenock, where she was bombed, to her eventual loss, presumed sunk after hitting a mine, in the Mediterranean.

Trooper was modified to be a mother-ship for midget submarines or "pigs" and the book casts a fascinating light on this gruelling and very dangerous area of Special Ops.

There is plenty of newly researched material and even first-hand commentery from men who worked on the sub.

I highly recommend the book to anyone with an interest in naval history or submarine warfare.
