The best of it's kind! - Rated 5/5
Whilst pregnant, i bought both this book, and the similar one by Dr Miriam Stoppard. This was by far the best. I loved the week by week explanation of the baby's progress including a photo for each week, then a seperate explanation of my own development. Many other books show your development in months for example rather than weeks.

I also found this book nicely up to date, some others on the market have been updated with regards to content but the photo's are very old which is off putting - seeing a picture of a woman dressed head to foot in a towelling nightie!!! Or a checkered tent rather than modern maternity clothes!

If you catch yourself asking questions at 2am - this is the book for you - Rated 4/5
I bought a couple of books to read during my pregnancy. This was one of them and I have to say, I am really glad I did. It has everything in it from what to pack in your hospital bag to how to what your growing baby will look like at 28 weeks and everything and anything else. It really is 'the bible'. Excellent for just picking up and having a flick or to go to when you have a real question or worry.

The style of writing is very matter of fact, without being patronising or trying to be your friend which I liked as I wanted a no nonsense book to go along with the other books I'd bought. There is an excellent chapter for new dads and it goes well into birth and the first few weeks of having a baby so I think it will be with me for quite a while.

The only thing I'd have to complain about is the weight of it - leaning it on your bump while you lie in bed reading is not the most comfortable (and baby agrees!) but then, it's probably best not to read about birth or cleft palates or stretch marks just before you go to bed anyway!

A thoroughly good buy - highly recommended.

Brilliant! - Rated 5/5
A fantastic point of reference. A reassuring and informative book which I have dipped into throughout my pregnancy, and which has never failed to answer my questions.

Fantastic! what an insite into the journey of pregancy! - Rated 5/5
i bought this book when i fell pregnant with my daughter and i followed her development week by week with the help of the book. it was fascinating and very informative. the other practical advice and information about the pregnancy, birth and after care really helped me prepare mentally and physicly for the months ahead. i strongly recommend it!

The only pregnancy book i needed! - Rated 5/5
I found this book excellent. I bought this soon after i found out i was pregnant and feel like it has everything i need or want to know about pregnancy, delivery and the first few weeks with the baby. I love the fact it tells you what changes your body might be doing each week and how your baby is developing with a short description and pictures. I pick it up each week to see what my baby's up to and how its changing. It gives good advice on diet and what foods to avoid and how to keep fit. Theres many other sections too that look interesting and detailed which i still need to read! I don't feel like i need to buy another pregnancy book as this fills all my requirements. I highly recommend it to other expectant mothers.
