San Francisco - Not for the 1st time visitor - Rated We are due to go to San Francisco for our 2nd visit in 10 years in the near future. We were disappointed with this book - not a patch on the detail that was given in the DK guide we used in 1995. Whilst it gives some good detail on the more popular locations, accomodations, places to eat etc if you want something a little out of the norm or, if your pleasure is to visit just beyond the boundaries of SF - you need to look elsewhere for guidance. We have used other Time Out guides but found this one was lacking. Time Out San Francisco - Rated Excellent publication, full of clear consise information. This was the first Time Out publication I purchased and on the basis of that moved on to other cities versions as I travelled. All were equally good. The best guide to San Francisco I've found - Rated As reliable, quirky, informative and inspiring as Time Out guides always are. The restaurant reviews are spot on, I found an excellent value hotel through this guide, and it was my constant companion on a brilliant holiday. Light and pocket-sized too! I particularly liked the guide to the best stairway walks in SF.
