Close Encounters Of The Spooky Kind - Rated
I bought this book as I live in the North-East of England, and was interested if any of the ghosts encountered were sighted anywhere near where I live! Sadly, not. But still, I enjoyed this book, as it doesn't go into too much boring technical detail, and concentrates on the basics, in language that non-Ghost hunters will be able to understand.
I recently was able to get my hands on a copy of this book signed by the author himself (:-))
If you are a fan of "Most Haunted" or horror movies in general, then give this book a read. It may help persuade you that ghosts do really exist.
P.S. What's that behind you?!?
Who You Going Call???? - Rated
Well no one if you read this book, you will be intrigued and be more opened minded towards ghosts, phantoms and the like. You will therefore learn alot about ghosts, and embrace them rather than fear them.
This book is very interesting, and done by a clear minded, honest enthusiast; and isn't self interested or tacky like your average "Most Haunted" episode. That's not to say die hard "Most Haunted" fans won't enjoy it, but however find it a more detailed, and more in depth account of ghosts and paranormal activities within the north of England.
Buy it, read it, and enjoy it.
Tremendous read! - Rated
Darren's book is a surefire winner, accessible, interesting, finely balanced and great value for money. Being a native of the North East, it was exceptionally engaging to read about the paranormal investigations, all of which are well-documented, considered and sensitively approached by the author. I cannot recommend this book enough, whether you know of the spooky places contained within, or not. Buy it now!
Great book for all - Rated
I dont often post reviews for books purchased on this site but after reading Darren Ritson's 'Ghost Hunter' I was compelled to write one for this book. Darren's book, i found to be one of the best reads so far in relation to this particular subject matter - Ghosts, and coming from the area in which the book focus's on i can relate to what is written as i have actually visited some of the venues mentioned in the book. I found the book to be an absolute cracking read and found myself reading it until i had finished it. It is a great page-turner and well worth buying for yourself. I recommend it to everyone and not just those based in the North East of England . Darren looks at hauntings with an unbiased and objective point of view and the investigations and case studies he writes about kept me on the edge of my seat. To summarise, it is a book well worth the money and should he write another book on the same kind of subject matter, i will certainly be purchasing one.
