Out of the Tunnel - Rated 5/5
I met Rachel last summer, when she taught a pole dancing workshop. She zipped up her sugar pink vinyl platform boots and swung round the pole, hair flying, then taught us to bump and grind and flick our legs and hair with the best of them. Afterwards we went to the pub, where she chatted cheerfully about losing weight for her wedding.
It was a couple of months later that I saw her on tv campaigning for a public enquiry into the 7/7 bombings.
Rachel is, frankly, an incredible person who has, through writing about her experiences, refused to sink into the depths of despair. Her book is a testimony to her courage and sheer humanity, and simple proof of the power of stories, how they can help us make sense of our chaotic and often terrifying world.

Out of the Tunnel - Rated 5/5
This is a truly honest & compelling read. Certainly some parts make for disturbing reading on account of the candid explicit detail of the horror Rachel experienced. For me the whole book demonstrates the strengths human beings can draw from one another, how in the face of adversity one human being can bring so many people together & make something good out of devastation & chaos. Out of the Tunnel demonstrates that in the depths of despair, amid, war, hate & terror,we see how love, trust, nurturing & compassion can flourish to repair the damaged souls & pave the way for a new world. We see one person heal & in turn help heal others to support one another in group with a unique bond. A united front that will remain steadfast, tall, proud & united to strive, hope & achieve a better future.

Excellent Read - Rated 5/5
I have been reading Rachel's blog for a number of years and was looking forward to this book and I was not disappointed, it was an excellent read, in some parts it was an uncomfortable read as it is so descriptive but you are left with a positive feeling of how the author has taken the dreadful things that have happened to her and can still see the best in people.

I would recommend that every body should read this book.

An incredible piece of work. - Rated 5/5
I read this book slowly, taking in every word written by the author. Rachel North described her rape, where she was left for dead in 2002 in such graphic detail that left me in tears and shaking.

The author's ordeal during the 7 July bombings left me dry-mouthed and sick. How an author can describe and then write about everything that happened with such love for her fellow-travellers is a remarkable feat, and thanks to her faith, her family and friends, she has done it.

Setting up a 'King's Cross United' group for other travellers on the train that she was almost blown up in owes North an immense credit to humanity, and although I am sure that life is still tough at times, I believe that the hardest achievement that Rachel North has ever done is to write this book.

It has totally changed my outlook on life.

Wonderful - thank you Rachel - Rated 5/5
This is just simply a great book - a true story told with honesty, insight, passion and clarity. It must have been very hard to write - - hint - keep a box of tissues handy. The triumph of the author's humanity and compassion in the face of totally evil acts is truly inspiring and uplifting.
Everyone should read this book - what makes us human and what really matters in life.
