This book is just right for a beginner to the Raclette, we had one as a gift and knew nothing about it until we purchased this book of recipes, now we are enjoying ourselves alot more and entertaining too. Thanks.
Just what I have been looking for. - Rated
I have had a raclette for two years having experienced it at a friends dinner party. Since then I have been making it up as I go along! We have had some fantastic evenings and now I have found a whole host of new and innovative recipes to try. The book is well laid out, gives tips on how to serve the food, accompanied by lovely pictures of the food I am going to create! I can't wait to try some of them out with my family this weekend. There are even ideas for entertaining your children (under strict supervision of course)
Shame it's not bigger - but buy it anyway - Rated
I received a Raclette for Christmas and was thankful that someone thought to buy me the book 'Raclette' as well, because I had never used one before. I ignored the book to start with...it is only 62 pages long...because I was convinced that there would be no recipes in it for me. I am vegetarian. How WRONG I was!! There's a cheese glossary, recipes for beverages/cocktails, a Fruit, Veg and Cheese section, a Meat section and a Seafood section - and that's just recipes for the Raclette pans!
There are even more recipes for the grill on top! The last part of the book gives you recipes for things to serve with the food from the Raclette, finally giving tips on how to plan your Raclette party. As a veggie, there are 21 recipes in the book for me...but I reckon I can adapt some of the ideas from the meat section with little trouble. If the book were just a little bit thicker it would have got the full five stars. It is in colour and has a photo for every recipe...sometimes with step to step photo instruction. A good book to start you off in the world of the Raclette.
