A story written in the thirties, and still very true of what can happen in families today. Kastner tells the story of the two girls very vividly, their separation, their lives in their separate homes and their "meeting". By cooperation, wit, innocent wisdom, they achieve their goal - changes. Kastner was a keen observer of his surroundings and relates this story sympathetically. Each child and each parent is described, for better or worse, in a "natural" light, which gives us the feeling that we can relate, although this is only a story.
